Feature Friday - We are AD

On Feature Fridays we picked one company from our Directory and got to know their business a bit better by asking them a few quick questions.
1. Who is AD?
Please note: Company name is “We Are AD” (it was formerly Alienation Digital but we rebranded in December following a management buy out).
We Are AD is a people business! We’re an award-winning strategic digital agency with over 18 years’ experience in delivering measurable results for clients. We pride ourselves on our passionate and talented team and flexible working environment – ensuring that we provide the best atmosphere to inspire creativity. Our business is all about digital transformation, helping businesses to leverage digital to greatest effect in order to achieve their goals.
We offer a full range of digital services and solutions from digital strategy and marketing (SEO, content strategy, copywriting, PPC, Analytics, email marketing and social media) through to UX, responsive web design and web development.
2. Where are you based?
Having started life in Scotland, we’ve now spread our wings and are a truly international agency, with a global client list. We have offices in London, Glasgow and Manchester and earlier this year we also announced the Incorporation of the business in the US.
3. Tell us about some of your most notable work.
We’ve worked on hundreds of incredible projects over the years that we’re really proud of (you can check a small sample of them out here: http://we-are-AD.com/projects). Some interesting work we’ve done recently has been a big digital transformation piece for EDF Energy Group, working with their B2B business to establish their 5-Year Digital Roadmap. We’ve also completed an award-winning Market Insight app for EDF Energy and an in-depth omnichannel user journey project.
Being headquartered in Glasgow we were particularly honoured to be selected to develop the new international Glasgow City Marketing Bureau suite of websites – PeopleMakeGlasgow.com – with ongoing work continuing to deliver a world-class solution and new features (such as the recently launched social Wonder Wall).
We’ve also built up an incredible roster of work in the arts and culture sector, recently launching the Almeida Theatre website, Royal Exchange Theatre, London Philharmonic Orchestra and currently working on a large US project for Salt Lake City County Center for the Arts (and its four world-class venues).
Due to the diverse nature of our work (and team) we could be working on a multi-site hotel website development or a complex online ticketing integration solution, a social media competition campaign or an ecommerce remarketing PPC strategy, a leading brand design development or a stunning responsive microsite for the travel industry in any given day – it’s one of the things we love about what we do!
4. What are you up to at the moment?
2015 so far has been big for AD: we’ve relaunched our own brand (formerly Alienation Digital) and are currently developing the next evolution of our brand and website, as well as expanding to the US and Manchester. Currently, we’re working on some amazing projects with great clients such as The Amber Collective in Newcastle, Manchester’s Hallé Orchestra, Scottish social enterprise The Wise Group and UK-wide charity Quarriers.
5. How do you consider a client’s strategic goals when working with them on digital services?
The client’s goals are at the heart of everything. Our ‘agile’ process and on-site approach to projects means we collaborate closely throughout the project lifecycle with our clients, ensuring their business objectives are established and built-in from the offset, there is flexibility for change, we maintain constant communication and we incubate creativity.
The first meeting(s) we have with a new client is all about establishing goals, KPIs and getting under the skin of the client’s business, marketplace and audiences. Our transparent two-way dialogue has played a key role in the recent success of our projects.
It is this agile process, employing key principles from Scrum theory, that ensures we deliver innovative yet intuitive solutions – we love style, but it must have substance. Our mantra – ‘fail fast, learn fast’ - we’re not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them in order to let the best ideas shine through.
