Dr Jillian Ney is a visiting academic in the Department of Marketing at Strathclyde Business School. In 2013 Jillian founded Disruptive Insight, a social intelligence consultancy that helps large organisations find and create shared value from social media.

Jillian joined the department of Marketing at Strathclyde Business School in 2003 as an undergraduate student and continued her studies in 2008 as a doctoral researcher where she explored consumer behaviour and social media.
She’s now a visiting academic and lectures on digital marketing and social media for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She also sits on several advisory boards for social technology and education brands and regularly publishes on social consumer behaviour and social media measurement in industry publications.
